Unauthorized Intellectual Property Reference and Literature Misappropriation

Notice Date: June 8, 2026

Famenity Co., Ltd. is issuing this formal Consumer Advisory to address the misappropriation/misuse of our BRAINFACTOR-7® and BF-7® trademarks and associated clinical trial literature by unauthorized third-party dietary supplement distributors, commercial ingredient brokers, and sponsored media platforms.

1. Misrepresentations in Sponsored Media Posts (PricePlow)

It has come to our attention that a sponsored marketing post published on August 28, 2025, by the media outlet PricePlow, titled “Memo-Q: The Silk Protein From Freemen Nutra That’s Revolutionizing Cognitive Enhancement,” contains several severe factual errors regarding product identity.

The publication claims that an ingredient branded as Memo-Q (distributed by Freemen Nutra and formerly known as Cera-Q) possesses a “20-year research program” and “10 human clinical trials” validating its use. PricePlow falsely and misleadingly attributes clinical studies conducted on Famenity’s BF-7® as if those studies were conducted on Memo-Q.

The following are false and misleading statements found in the PricePlow posts:

  • Misappropriated Bibliography: The “human clinical trials” listed by name consists of proprietary scientific evaluations that were conducted on Famenity’s proprietary BF-7® products establishing the efficacy.
  • No Material Identity: The ingredient marketed as Memo-Q / Cera-Q is produced via manufacturing chains, enzymatic profiles, and quality control protocols that are different from those of BF-7®. These are not the same products. Any effort to use literature derived from research conducted on Famenity’s BF-7® to market Memo-Q or Cera-Q is unlawful and misleading. The clinical studies conducted on genuine BF-7® were essential to securing Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) approval to market, sell, and distribute BF-7® as a dietary supplement proven to have human brain health benefits.
  • A search of publicly available MFDS records indicates that Memo-Q / Cera-Q is not approved by the MFDS as a “functional” ingredient.

2. False Designation of Origin and Unlawful Trademark Association (Natrol Cognium)

Famenity further flags unauthorized brand associations appearing on corporate digital platforms, including the consumer-facing blog entry titled “Natrol Cognium Clinical Studies.”

The publication falsely states that the silk protein hydrolysate powering the Natrol Cognium® line is “referred to as either Brain Factor-7 or BF-7.”

Famenity issues the following Advisories:

  • Exclusive IP Ownership: Brain Factor-7® and BF-7® are registered trademarks belonging exclusively to Famenity Co., Ltd.
  • False Designation of Origin: Sourcing materials via BrainOn or Freemen Nutra (for Memo-Q / Cera-Q) while labeling or misidentifying them to formulators or consumers as “BF-7” or “Brain Factor-7” constitutes trademark infringement, “passing off,” false designation of origin, and false description of fact. Such unlawful association is explicitly designed to mislead the market into believing that “copycat” products originate from, are sponsored by, or are affiliated with Famenity Co., Ltd., when no such relationship exists.
  • Improper and Misleading Citation of Proprietary Research: The inclusion of Famenity’s peer-reviewed clinical data — such as studies published in the Korean Journal of Sericultural Science (2004a) and the Korean Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology (2004b) — on the Natrol platform constitutes an unauthorized exploitation of Famenity’s intellectual property assets, and may constitute copyright infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, and deceptive trade practices under applicable laws.

3. Clear Brand Boundary and Market Truth

To preserve formulation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and consumer safety, the global marketplace must maintain absolute separation between genuine BF-7® and its clinical studies, and “other” silk fibroin products (such as Cera-Q, Memo-Q, Cognium) that are NOT the same as BF-7®.

The clinical validation and safety metrics of BRAINFACTOR-7® (BF-7®) belong strictly to Famenity Co., Ltd. Third-party materials manufactured under different conditions cannot claim our scientific efficacy.

4. Verification and Affiliate Confirmation Mandate

Famenity strongly encourages all brand owners, formulators, contract manufacturers, and supply chain managers to exercise strict due diligence when sourcing silk protein ingredients.

To ensure your product features the genuine, clinically backed peptide matrix and avoids intellectual property liability, you must actively confirm the original source and lawful corporate affiliation with Famenity Co., Ltd. Authorized validation and legitimate supply chain documentation can only be obtained directly through certified Famenity technical channels. Do not formulate with materials referencing “BF-7” without explicit, written licensing validation from Famenity Co., Ltd.
