Unauthorized Trademark Use and Corporate Distinction

Notice Date: June 8, 2026

Famenity Co., Ltd. is issuing this formal clarification regarding unauthorized brand associations and misleading statements appearing in an article published in Nutrients, titled “Effect of a Fibroin Enzymatic Hydrolysate on Memory Improvement: A Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind Study” (Kang YK, Lee BY, Bucci LR, Stohs SJ; Nutrients. 2018 Feb 17;10(2):233).

The article can be reviewed in its entirety via the National Institutes of Health PMC database at PMCID: PMC5852809 / PMID: 29462997.

1. Correction of Unauthorized Trademark Linkage

In Section 2.1 (Materials and Methods) of the aforementioned 2018 publication, the authors incorrectly state that the study material was provided by “BrainOn Co., Ltd.” and assert that “The product, also known as BF-7, … is sold under the trade name of Cera-Q.”

Famenity explicitly corrects this record:

  • Exclusive Trademark Ownership: BRAINFACTOR-7® (BF-7®) is a proprietary, legally protected trademark owned by Famenity Co., Ltd.
  • No Supply Chain Relationship: BrainOn Co., Ltd. is not an authorized manufacturer, supplier, distributor, or developer of Famenity’s authentic BF-7® ingredient. Materials distributed by BrainOn Co., Ltd. under the trade names “BrainOn,” “Cera-Q,” or “Memo-Q” are entirely separate and distinct.

2. Disassociation from Discredited Research

Famenity notes that the lead author of this 2018 study, Yong Koo Kang, is the President of BrainOn Co., Ltd.

Famenity has no relation to BrainOn, Cera-Q, or Memo-Q.

  • Famenity played zero operational, financial, or analytical role in the execution of the 2018 Nutrients study.
  • Any effort by third-party entities to leverage Famenity’s clinical studies and established brands (“BRAIN FACTOR-7” and “BF-7”) to validate non-Famenity materials is false and misleading.

3. Verification of Legitimate Famenity BF-7 Research

The genuine clinical trial history of BRAINFACTOR-7® (BF-7®) spans multiple independent, multi-center human clinical trials completely unrelated to BrainOn Co., Ltd.

Formulators, regulatory bodies, and legal teams are advised to evaluate Famenity’s authentic compliance documentation directly through authorized Famenity technical channels rather than relying on compromised third-party literature.

Famenity Co., Ltd.

Authorized use of BRAIN FACTOR-7® and/or BF-7® must be made under license from Famenity.
Any attempt to use BRAINFACTOR-7® or BF-7® as a generic or scientific term in the context of brain health supplements is inaccurate and misleadingly false.
